JUST IN TIME
25.11.-16.12.2016

The exhibition series JUST IN TIME was developed in cooperation of KLASSE BRENNER and KLASSE GROSS (University of Art Mainz) and took place at the project space AKKU in Stuttgart. The exhibition title refers to a logistics-oriented, decentralized organizational concept from industrial manufacturing. In the JIT-production, material is only delivered in a specific quantity and at a time it is required for demand-oriented production. This principle requires precise coordination of the production and material flows along the supply chain. This can only be achieved by close cooperation between suppliers and customers. The overall process becomes leaner, therefore processing times are shortened. Based on this principle, there were six consecutive projects within the exhibition series JUST IN TIMEin a period of three weeks. The individual openings were closely scheduled and therefore had shorter terms and required precise coordination with one another. The assembly and dismantling phases were included in the concept due to the visibility of the rooms. Like being part of a production chain, the exhibitors both took on the role of suppliers as well as recipients.
